In the end they need really stable peacefull honest governemnt. Peace from fighting, rule of law, education, free trade, foreign investment and rising stardard of living wouldl then follow. How to do that in the long term and how to immediatly stop the violence and starvation isnt simple or super clear.

Might be a bit of a pessimistic answer but I don't think it will ever end. We've been raising money for years by way of Comic Relief, Band Aid, Live Aid and other charity events but poverty is still here. The only hope for AIDS is for a cure which will take time. The task is too much for youth to change, the Government need to take more responsibility.

Make some decent laws and enforce them.
Can't do it without replacing police & courts with UN personell for a generation or two, and that would cost way more than taxpayers are willing to pay.

The kindest and maximum sensible element may well be to ?euthanize new borns and neuter the adults. besides the undeniable fact that that brings up ethical themes.
