I got pets for my birthday recently and have the same problem. The laptop is mine though so it's not a guest account. I've looked everywhere for a solution to this and cannot find one. When I installed it first it ran fine but anytime i tried to load it after that it would tell me that there was no cd in the drive. In the end I uninstalled it and went back to running open for business (the last expansion) and now it works fine again. I hope you find an answer. Sorry I couldn't help.

Here's two things to consider:
1) make sure that the CD is put into the CD-Rom that it was installed from
2) you probably need more rights, such as an administrator account to run the game as "guest account" is probably under limited mode
