As others have mentioned, 31 December, 2006. A Sunday. I think it important to add one observation.
For those who attend church, the arrangement can be quite nice. Go to church, eat, take a nap, and then go out and committ acts that will probably make the church goers waken January One and wish they could go back to church for a hangover cure!
