Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

unsure about macs, but G4 is pretty recent isnt it? log your internet speed and see if it matches up with the speed you ISP is giving you.

Hmm...dump the dialup and get high speed internet. Or find a local wireless hotspot and use airport that is built in.

Maybe it is not the actual computer itself. It could be your internet connection. Try searching "Internet speed test" in google.

have you tried to defrag the comp, and then run an anti- virus program? the other thing you that may slow it down is have you recently installed a new program that runs in the background?
