Simple answer:
Memory - something you can recall. but not always use.

Knowledge - usable information.

You can get "some" Knowledge from your Memory.

To remember is the function of memory and the knowledge is what you store in your brain to remember with. You must have the knowledge to use your memory. They work hand in hand or brain in brain, but for the most part, the storage of knowledge is memory and when people say the past, and think that the past is like years ago, no eehhh! wrong answer! It could be 60 seconds and you wont remember where you put your wallet or your keys.

Remembering refers to the ability to memorize and recall facts, past events, etc. with no additional thought, application, etc. applied. this could include people's names, phrases, historical dates, telephone numbers, multiplication and addition tables, etc. it is in its nature objecctive in that it can be readily measured.

Knowlege extends beyond simply recalling the facts to include their application. The use of words in phrasing. Applying multiplication and addition tables to calculate ccosts, earnings, projeced savings, etc. Applying past events and personal experiences to guide you in similar thought at leat slightly different circumstances. Recognizing the symbolism and meaning of a phrase or picture beyond its stated fact and applying it to situations ("A penny saved is a penny earned" applies to much more than the 1 cent piece). this is stil mostly objective in that it can be measured.

To go further (as I think it will help place the previous 2 in context), the next step would be wisdom. Wisdom implies the application of knowledge (which is developed from memoriztion as described above) to make prudent and correct decisions. In short, using your knowlege to make the "Wise" choice. Wisdom is purely subjective in that it cannot be readily measured - andold, dirt poor elderly person may be considered wise aseasily as a young successful individual may be considered to lack wisdom.

The last banch would be insightfulness. While it is often misused, true insightfullness imples the ability to recognize patterns and applications where the individual has no meory, facts, or directly applicable knowlege to base the decision on. In most cases the person who is considered insightful is applying less direct application of their existingg knowlege. The easiest example are people who seem to correctly know what someone is like or thinking the first time they met the person even though the person provided no communication nor do they have any background knowledge of the person. It may seem that the insightful prson is deriving this info from no where, but in reality they are relying on less obvious signs, such as the persons speech tone or phrasing, mannerism, dress, appearane, etc.

memory is where you put your car keys last

knowledge is what your car keys are used for ( like opening packages when you can't remember where the scissors are and your memory fails you and you find a new use for keys)
