An actual release date has not been announced. 7/07/07 and 7/13/07 is a rumor. Scholastic who publishes the books in the US does not have an official release date, and neither does the UK publisher Bloomsbury.
It is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
I am very excited! I looked up Hallow in the online Webster dictionary. It means to make holy devoted or venerate. It's opposite is to desecrate.
When I ran the Microsoft Thesaurus is gave me consecrate or make holy.
Sounds like maybe it is referring to deatheaters or dementors. Possibly Jo is referring to the death eaters as a deadly cult.
It could also be referring to the Horcruxes. I think it makes sense that anything that hold a part of a soul (even ol' Voldy's) could be considered sacred. The fact that the Horcruxes could only be made by killing someone could be the reason for the "Deathly." We also know from HBP that destroying a Horcrux can be dangerous (remember Dumbledore's hand).
Also, James and Lily made their home in Godric’s Hollow, which is quite close to hallow. It would be poetic justice if Voldy died where he killed Harry’s parents.

There are rumors for 07/07/07 as it's the seventh book. However, yesterday on the Baker & Taylor list, which provides ordering option to schools and libraries, list the publication date as 07/13/07. It would not be a surprise given that this is the date of the fifth movie's opening. But, JKR is still writing... one never knows when she will finish although she has always had the books on the shelves in time for Harry's July Birthday previously.

everyone thinks 7/7/07 but i disagree that day was the day of the london bombings and would be a bad day because JK rowiling was born in london before she moved to Scotland also that's only days away from the order of the phoenix movie release on 7/13/07 meaning the dates would clash with all the press events and such plus she's still in the process of writing it
