go to walmart and get you a Toshiba Satellite laptop. . . they are bout 5-700 dollars.

It really depends on what you are looking to do. If digital work is your goal, go for a macbook pro with core2duo. If it's computing, go for a Pentium-D core2duo laptop. Make sure you have at least 1 GB of ram and enough hard drive space to store all your work. Aim for 1700~1800 if you are buying from retailers (like apple or dell).

HP (both hp precision & compaq presario) dual core processor laptops r very nice, particularly, as they r equipped with Altec Lansing sound system, their video and audio r mind blowing...
they will cost u around 50-52k INR, with 100GB hard disk, 1GB RAM, and Nvidia integrated graphics card they r best for playing games... for details visit HP website...

If money is not a problem then i would say either HP or Dell's with an amd turion 64 X2 dual core processor.

right now there are a lot of HP laptops that are available for a throw away price. chec kyour local newspaper to know more about them. the prices vary from place to place
