No hero-just a victim of circumstance

Neither! He is a man occupying an office. Being President is the best and worst job in the world. You get the credit and blame for everything that happens whether it is your responsibility or not. Heavy is the head which wears the crown. I do believe there are good and bad things about Mr. Bush. I like the fact that he does have convictions and is willing to make the hard choices, even knowing that many of these choices will not be popular. I do not like the fact that he is not fiscally responsible with the public purse. In the end I don't care what popularity contests he wins or loses. All I care about is that he be a strong and effective leader. In my opinion he has accomplished this for the most part.

Neither. He's just a President trying to do his job; his personality quirks, mainly a lack of patience and strong self confidence, get him into trouble with those that don't agree with him. Having to resort to the Federal courts because of shenanigans in Florida got him off to an adversarial start. As far as corruption, most Federal politicians and high level career bureaucrats are quite corrupt and President Bush appears to be about average in that respect. He has definitely hurt the Constitution but nearly every President since Abraham Lincoln has done so and he's certainly not up there with the likes of Wilson or FDR. As far as criminality, while often pushing the edge, all actions he took had precedent by prior Presidents. The only two Presidents that I consider actual criminals are Richard Nixon for approving theft and William Clinton with his unprecedented 21 Federal indictments (none having to do with sex since that isn't illegal yet). The Grant administration was probably just as or more corrupt then the Clinton administration but President Grant was mainly just a poor judge of character. President Bush just doesn't compare with either the great Presidents or the really bad ones.

Bush is no hero! It should never be used to describe him! He is a draft dodger AWOL during Vietnam! Since then he has gotten 25,000 military killed or wounded in a land that had nothing to do with 9/11 or terrorism!

Osama is still on the loose 5 years after9/11!

He's no hero.

Jr. is just lost in a role he got eased into with his papa's help.

God bless the United States -- we need the help.

Ummm, I think he's a lot like Osama in that he is a religious fanatic and he is fighting a religious war of ideology. But my vote is that he's an idiot and he's devalued the position of "President".
