It means something has corrupted your boot files.

You may be able to do a Repair Install direct from a bootable Microsoft Windows CD (assuming your Windows CD allows this - my Dell one did not).

Else you may end up having to re-install Windows (when asked, install to a new folder so you keep as much as possible of your current settings).
