Is there anyway of tracking down my stolen laptop?

Not yet, but since each computer has a unique MAC address, the technology will eventually come around to where it will be located once it is connected to the internet. I see GPS being a part of this.

Only if you had previously installed a theft protection software before it got stolen and the person connects to the internet then it is possible else I'm sorry to say.... its not.
