Cache memory is like a scratch pad, used by Ram to fasten its processing. The memory is divided into pages, files& directories. And there is a phenomena called Page fault.Cache is used to minimize it and improve the overall performance.

Hi!

256 RAM in MB is not CACHE. Cache memory has the role of buffering RAM memory, and it's much faster. Newer systems have two level cache memory: L1 Cache runs at CPU speed (smaller, faster than RAM). L2 runs at intermediary speed (larger than L1, smaller than RAM).

When the CPU requests some data (either data or instructions) from a memory address, the cache controller checks to see if it has cached that data, and, if true, it serves the CPU with that data, and, being faster than RAM, the CPU waits for less time.

The correct spelling of your request is "Cache"...

Temporary computer storage used for quick retrieval of data in order to increase processing speed.
The cached data can be stored in a reserved area of RAM, a special cache chip (separate from the CPU) that provides faster access than RAM, or on the disk drive. By keeping frequently accessed data in a rapidly accessible place, the computer can respond quickly to requests for those data without having to perform time-consuming searches of RAM or hard drives. Since a "stale" cache will contain data that have been superseded by later information, the cached data must be refreshed periodically.
