I'm new to a job (4 months) and it seems my boss hates my guts. Her tone is rude and short with me. I can't figure out why me?? She is very nice to other people.

She is in her fourties. I am in my twenties. I am in a graduate role.
She keeps telling me im not up to scratch, when she has hardly spent any time training me. I seek out questions, and try very hard, work long hours. I have explained to her i need training but hasn't really done anything about it except complain things aren't getting done and pointing the finger at me. She loves telling me what the problems are, but doesnt train me on how to fix them. I feel like im suffocating.

My gut is telling me, no matter what i do, she wont encourage my progression within the company and may in fact damange my reputation amongst other managers.

Shall i look for a new job? I have considered temping until i find a permanent job. What do you think? Im a warm, sensitive, caring person, confused with why i am treated this way.

I have been through this. It is bc she is threatened by you as another woman. You won't get a fair shake from her, and the nicer you are, the meaner she'll be. You should look for another job. If you stay, she'll stonewall your career.

Sam,

i think that you're taking this a little bit on a personal level.. in life there's always negative people, and there's always Pain in the neck bosses.. like there's lots of nice and Good versions.. but it depends on how you react to let it affect you.. i guess if you focus on Being "Strictly Professional" in your behaviour and look at it from a point of view that you're there to WORK and that she's not a monster but more a Human :o) and nothing Personal.. i guess you can have the gut.. so you need to talk to her directly focusing on your Work and not on her behaviour... and explain to her that you wont be able to achieve results if you can't find answers and that you need her support and "advise" so you do what's best for the company.. and that you're always ready to accept any comments she would have on you..

and changing careers can be the answer .. but only AFTER you think objectively about things.. and NOT personally..

Cheers,
SC

What a image that became. I walked out on that interest. She employed my alternative in the previous she decrease my pay and responsibilities. She became a sprint bit artwork, too. bypass to website approximately bosses who're bullies. amazing memories there.

"Winners never quit and quitters never win", first of all never ever muse to quit. If your boss keeps on criticising you all the time, then there may shortcomings in you as well. Try to work upon your hamartia and make a rapport with her. There is an age gap, consequently there is bound to be a gap in thinking. Instead of running from it, try to bridge the gap. If a boss is not always right, she may not be always wrong.

She is terrified you will replace her, and she is not acting very professionally. Is there a way to go over her head and request the training you need?

You do need to be proactive about this, or she will hurt you yes.

Most probably you were not her choice and was "imposed" on her.
First thing you ned to do is to talk to her. take this question on Yahoo and discuss it with her.
If it didn't work, Go and talk to her boss.
If it didn't work, resign andmake sure you write the reason of resignation.
