1.optical and 2.magnetic storage media
most of hard disks uses magnetic storage media

the harddisk contains layers of ironoxide or aluminium..
there actually data stored ...in the form of magnetic flux
the change in direction of flux is treated as either 0 or 1 .

data are actually stored in 0's and 1's on a computer hard disk.The platters of the hard disk rotate in such way so as to read/write records.When u specify a data to be stored on a computer hard disk the processor processes it in matter of 0's and 1's
