If you are referring at the fight between Hamas and Fatah,I think that both parties should stop their struggle for power and realize who is the threat...The fight only serves Israel an it's definitely makes things worst for Palestinians...They should talk and form a unity government...this would be better for everyone...
If you are referring at the situation with Israel...well as long as Israel thinks it's above the law and as long as it has US support, they won't allow Palestinians to have their own independent state...Israel was created without caring that on that land Arabs were living for centuries...As I remember one of the reason the British gave Palestine to Jews was that anyway the Arabs have enough lands,so a country less wouldn't be such a big loss for them...
Israel keeps taking land from Palestinians(they just announced the creation of a new colony in west Bank) ...So of course Palestinians will see Israel occupying even more land and they are going to be more willing to liberate it,by any possible means, which will eventually lead to more violence from both sides...
Creating Israel was not the right solution for the Jews, nor for the Palestinians...it only caused many more problems...and one more conflict area...

The asker really ought to know that the only place in the world called Palestine today is in Texas.

"The fact is that today's Palestinians are immigrants from the surrounding nations! I grew up well knowing the history and origins of today's Palestinians as being from Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Christians from Greece, Muslim Sherkas from Russia, Muslims from Bosnia, and the Jordanians next door. The civil and tribal wars between Yemenites (from Yemen) and Kessites (from Banu Kais of Saudi Arabia) ... are well known among Palestinians.

"My grandfather, who was a dignitary in Bethlehem, almost lost his life by Abdul Qader Al-Husseni (the leader of the Palestinian revolution) after being accused of selling land to Jews. He used to tell us that his village Beit Sahur (The Shepherds Fields) in Bethlehem County was empty before his father settled in the area with six other families. The town has now grown to 30,000 inhabitants."

- Walid, a Palestinian Arab defector, talking about the recent immigration of Arabs to Palestine. quoted from "Answering Islam"

It's sad. I do wonder quite a bit if there will be any peace.
