First, this question would be better if it asked..why do married people ....as it is far from just men who have affairs.

Clara Harris ran over her husband "accidentally" 3 times because he was having an affair on her. What most do not know, is that she had an affair on him also!

The infidelity rate is nearly equal.

The question is why?

Men often get lost in their jobs and neglect the needs of their wives. Some men who like to sleep around are very good at picking up on this and often they start by listening to these women and one thing leads to another. When women cheat, it often starts off with an emotional affair before it becomes physical...so guys...LISTEN to your wife.

Men often cheat because they feel they are not valued by their wive. Often they are emotionally abused because their wife feels they are being ignored. We often hear the old "locked out of the bedroom" or "your sleeping on the sofa tonight" jokes but folks...they are not jokes. They can lead to infidelity as women too are quick to sense that a man is not getting "needs" met at home. Many of these women do go after married men because they do not want commitment.

The best way to avoid this for both men and women...listen to each other. Pay attention and "date" your spouse. Something drew you both together...don't forget to keep doing the things you did then.

it has alot to do with what they feel about their selves inside, if they don't like their selves, than they won't like their spouse much either. alot about selfishness, and blaming their mate for all the problems, that they should be taking responsibility for. how they feel about their maker will definitely be how they may treat u. they do not value their wives, want to cut and run at the first hint of a problem, never even considering that they are going to have the same problem later with the new woman they are now with. they can say they are bored, and unhappy, but we are all responsible for our own happiness in life, as well as entertaining our own selves when we get boored. i would blame it on a mans character, and selfishness.

It could be any of the above. I think it's different for each man or woman!

I think stress (too demanding work) and change of interest and/ or the feeling not wanted enough.
