I think adoption is all about the money, if you do not make enough money you cannot adopt a child, that puts all theose children into foster care. I wish I knew the answer to the problem too.

Most of the children in foster care, are there because their parents were negligent. The children were taken from them, and put into foster care, until either, parents get their life together and can take care of them, or until they will agree to sign away their rights, so the child can be adopted.
Until parents either sign away rights, or the courts take them away, they cannot be adopted.

Not all of the children in foster homes are to do people not placing babies up for adoption. Lots are due to their parents being negligent. If the parent would have acted responsibly in the first place and given the baby up for adoption from the get go a lot of children would be in better places. I work in healthcare...there are people that are on welfare and continue to have babies. I am not saying that they will not better theirselves one day, but come on. I had a baby when I was 17 and placed him up for adoption, not because I did not want him, but because I knew that had screwed up and the baby should not have to suffer because of my stupidity.

that's just it...there are children in foster care, most people want babies, not older children. it's a sad reality that there are more people waiting to adopt a healthy infant than there are healthy infants out there to be adopted. if people would just realize that an older child can easily adapt to a new family when given enough love and patience... and as far as abortion, a baby can live without it.

foster care is primarily for children whose parents can not care for them because of arrest, negligence, or death. Adoption is for children whose parents did not want the child. Two separate issues in the question.

There are all those children because their parents didn't act responsibly.
