If you keep your private information to yourself you should be fine. don't give away your location, or phone number, etc.

yes there are dangers. you know those surveys they put out there in the bulletin boards? if you answer a lot of those someone could be taking notes about you and profiling you. also, if u have a public profile, someone could be profiling you too. with your pics and hometown and personality descriptions or what not, a profiler could probably point you out from your school with ease. how does he know where you school is? well thats on your myspace profile if you answer it. to avoid this keep your profile private, dont answer the surveys your friends put out there. i have watched a case where POLICEMEN use myspace and "comb" suspect's profiles of gang voilence, where they would hangout etc etc...no one would be able to do this if you had your profile pivate. hope this helps!
