i went to feed my fish this morning and i saw something white that looks like wet cotton and it is near the gravel in my aquarium.
well,i wasnt surprised cause i have 2 tetras that has a bulky belly(looks like its carrying eggs).
But i dont really know if those are eggs or not, if yes, whose eggs? i also got some glowlight tetras with my neons.
please tell me what do neon tetra eggs look like.
or show me(give a link).

thanks

I have had neon tetras but they have not been known to breed in an aquarium environment. I did however have some danio zebras that laid eggs and they were translucent. Their eggs are so small that they would fall in the gravel at the bottom of the tank and the other fish in the tank ate them before they would hatch so I would assume that that same situation could happen with the neon tetra.

sure, your neons and cardinals can stay fortunately at the same time. yet your cardinal tetras could be happier with a pair extra fish of their very own style. They do perfect in communities of 5 or extra, and that they are going to stay longer!

I think what happened is that one of your Neon Tetra or Glowlight Tetra had laid eggs. Neon Tetra eggs are mostly small and white. I really think they might be eggs. Use google to surf and see how they look like.

Look very carefully at the cottony stuff,it's probably fungus growing around a small bit of organic material (a bit of food,or a fish corpse.) PeeTee

It could be an algae bloom try cleaning it out and wiping all the surfaces it touched .I had a white algae bloom that looked like it was coming from the filter.

I don't think it is eggs. Fish eggs are usually tiny specks stuck to a surface. I think you need to vaccuum your tank.
