THURSDAY, Dec. 28 (HealthDay News) -- For those children who got new video games and systems this Christmas, parents need to make sure their youngsters don't suffer hand and thumb injuries caused by overuse of those games, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) says.

This is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard. I played video games daily for 23 years, and I have none of the problems they are talking about. When are people going to stop being so over protective of this country's children?

Actually, it's true. People are stupid. If they play games for too long in a single sitting, they can get blisters from overuse of the thumb, or pressing buttons too hard. Also, that N64 controller stick was rough; for those "rotate the stick" games in Mario Party, I rubbed the palm of my hand dry.

Did you know that the Wii controller was blamed for injuries as well? People standing too close to each other playing the games, or people getting too hyper and flinging their arms all out, causing the Wiimote to fly from their grips. People are stupid.

So you are lucky ... not proof against this. I suffer from carpal tunnel and it IS from video games/computer usage. And guess what, it didn't show up until I was almost 30 ... so keep playing everyday and see if eventually you don't get problems.

I've only had one of those problems a couple times. Never had any hand problems. Although I can pop every finger... but whatever.. I'm a geek, I play, I create, and that cannot be stopped.
