There are several different things that you can do to help. Drink warm water often...not hot, just warm. Try fiber supplements, such as Metamucil or chewable tablets. There are many over the counter remedies, I would suggest Colage. It is usually very effective and can be purchased at Wal Mart or any drug store. If you like coffee that can also help loosen you bowels. If this problem persists, contact your doctor and make an appointment as soon as possible.

One more thing...although many people are not comfortable using suppositories, they can be effective for quick relief (If you should need it). You can purchase these at Wal Mart or any drug store as well.

I have found that the new yogart, "Activia", is great for your digestive system and to keep you regular. Look in the diary section of your local grocery store. It's the one with the green label and comes in several great flavors (strawberry, vanilla, peach, blueberry, etc.) The commercials say they guarantee it. I believe them because fiber, water and all the usual stuff never worked for me. Once you use this and stay regular, then you probably wouldn't have to eat it every day - - - maybe every other day.

If you don't like yogart, then try Citricil. It is a orange flavored fiber laxative that you can find on the shelf with the other laxatives. It tastes good - - like Tang - - - but you have to mix it in water and drink it fast because it's sort of grainy. Also, chase it down with extra water. Follow the directions and drink it 2-3 times a day until you get regular, then once a day.

mix and drink prune juice, lemon juice, and aloe juice nightly and take magnesium supplement as needed. You need to be more aggressive at first to get things moving, but then fiber foods and plenty of water and exercise to keep things moving. You may need to retrain your body when it is time to go. Your body will lose it's feeling to go if you get too constipated. Avoid dairy for a while.

Drink lots of water, put LSA (crushed linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds) x 2 tblspns & wheatgerm x 2 tblspns on your cereal every day. Increase you intake of Vit D, either from the sun or eat tuna/ salmon, take 2 flaxseed oil tablets with a full glass of water witheach meal. Sounds like you are lacking in fibre and the essential fatty acids ( the good fats and oils as in fish, seeds and nuts.................Good Luck..........:)

More fiber and lots more water on a daily basis.
Grapes seem to be especially helpful for many people.

Fiber from sources such as raw veggies and fruit are better than Metamucil because you get the fiber as well as the nutritional value.

Avoid narcotic pain relievers!

If you take a daily multivitamin you might want to take a stool softener (docusate sodium) with it. I take a pre-natal vitamin which contains docusate. Some vitamins can be constipating. Also, you can increase your water intake easier if you drink things containing electrolytes, like sports drinks.

Depends on what made you constipated to begin with. If it was bad diet, then raw apples will help. If it was medication, then you may need a laxative (but please see your doctor first!)

In general, eat more fibre. Start with a good brekky cereal or drink a fibre drink such as Metamucil.
