Practice with a native speaker

It's good that you want to learn a foreign language. I tried learning Spanish and failed twice, so I know how daunting it is.

Talk a lot with people who speak English and clarify any funny looks you may get, as this can save you a lot of grief later on. Here's something you may find fun: every day look in the dictionary and learn a new word for every letter, if you have time. Modify this plan as you need. Watch movies in English that have non-fluent people talking in them, and try to compare them to fluent speakers (this is often helped by exaggerated accents).
I hope this helps you.

Watch Disney cartoons; I grew up with them, didn't have to go overseas to speak fluent English cause Disney is the best! Ok, maybe Pixar is a little better but with good scripts and a good story plot, this source of entertainment will make it so much easier for you to learn English. Otherwise, get a real sexy boyfriend/girlfriend who can speak good English. You'll learn fast then. Good luck ;)

Listen to news or children's programs. If there are closed captioned words at the bottom of the screen it is of more help.
Children's and news programs have proper English grammar, where as movies and sitcoms do not always have proper English.
I learned some Spanish that way as well as from people from Ecuador ans Colombia.

Hello =)

Since English is so idiomatic, the best way is to read English literature. Pick up a few modern novels, and enjoy!! You'll soon gain an understanding of when things "sound" correct, and when they don't.

Namaste, and Happy New Year,
