yes it can, but most of the time, one of them is on the butt ugly side, most of the time it's men, cause women need someone to cry to, and vent, and those guys are all over helping out a pretty girl. i have seen it, but to be honest, those guys were putting up with a lot of crap, paying for apartments, boobs, cars...no two attractive people would ever work out, as just friends. One of the people would have to have no attractiveness to them, from the other person,

yes it's a big world with lots of people. It would b too general and broad to say all opp. sex friendships has something going on...just stay away from alcohol and each other when lonely.

I do believe that it's possible.
But you will still doubt whether it's a true friendship sometimes. I do have one friend who I once tried to tackle, but she was now my godsister and girlfriend to my friend, so I believe it's possible.

I've always made more female friends than male, and it's always been strictly platonic, or brother/sister at most.
When I am interested sexually, a whole different brain pattern emerges......
