It depends on how far you care to work out things in your head. If you have really wild dreams or your expectations are jacked to the edge be prepared for a let down. One thing I have learned with age is that I am much more at ease with the onset of a bad situation. If you just take it as it comes rather than trying to live four peoples lives in one I think you have a better chance of living a happier life. Even so, sometimes we have to push ourselves hard physically and mentally just to avoid the dull mundane selfless disrespect of being semi-ordinary.

Because in the wonderful land of make believe nothing ever goes wrong. The scenarios in your head are based on positive outcomes most of the time. You never want to focus on the negative things that could happen. But because the world is such a crap shoot, you're never really surprised when it goes wrong anyway.

Our mental picture of reality rarely matches with reality. We like to delude ourselves and can barely handle the truth of any situation. We fear any kind of loss, and that fear drives our thoughts in a sneaky way that we barely realize. Reality is also very complicated, and our mental picture just can't match and adapt to it quickly enough sometimes.

Because in your head, you know what you want to happen, but in real life, you have no idea what is going to happen, therefore, you cannot expect things to reallyt work out as you think they should.

The plan you will settle on is the plan you think will work. Then some variable you didn't know of, or didn't take into consideration screws everything up. Reality bites.

You can script things in your head, but in real life you have to improvise. It sucks, I know.
