This is just a regular IDE optical drive and the BIOS will pick it up if you've set the jumper correctly. As for drivers - you won't need any because the regular Windows (I'll presume that you're using Windows) ATAPI device drivers will work for it. (In other words, Windows will auto-detect it.) If you're having problems with the device then check your jumpers...
If two devices (two HDs, two optical drives, or any combination) are sharing a cable then they either both need to be jumpered for CS (Cable Select), or the first device should be jumpered for Master and the second device jumpered for Slave. (The Slave will be at the end of the IDE cable, the Master in the middle, and the other end will be plugged into the motherboard.)
If there's only the optical drive on the cable then either set it to CS or Master. Ideally, you'll only ever have one device on a cable, but it'll work just fine if you've two on there. However, if one of them is an HD then set it to Master and leave whatever's left as the Slave.
As for a manual... I couldn't find one at the Sony site, but then I didn't look particularly far and wide. ;-)
