I guess it depends on what country you live in. I am in Canada and have a home business that can be run without the internet. It comes with all the training and mentoring to help you find success. We are in 22 countries now and opening in 20 more next year.

You can start an online business, kind of like what Tom did with Myspace.com.
You can actually take online college courses if you dont have time or transportation if you want to further your education.
Basically the internet will play a major roll in making money from home.
You could write novels as well.

Are you good at writing or any computer/internet-related jobs like SEO, web marketing, website design, etc? Well, there are a lot of freelance jobs that really pays good. You may want to check these sites out:

How about starting a cleaning business. You could do it by yourself at first, then when things pick up, hire more people! All you need to start are a broom, mop, cleaning products, etc. No huge start-up capital.

I tried some marketing, for Herbalife a.o. but it failed, because in Belgium this is not a way people buy goods. Maybe you could have better luck ?
P.S. Herbalife is only an example, I don't say it is good or bad.
