It's a matter of some things standing the test of time while others end up on the ash heap of history.
I just had this conversation with someone with respect to music.
Why does Buddy Holly still have millions of fans nearly fifty years after his death, while someone like, say, Fabian is nearly forgotten? Because Fabian's music was a passing fancy, while Buddy Holly did stuff of lasting value.
Rarely does the crap product of any era have staying power. It's the best of the age that earns the designation of "classic."

Moreoever, in an age when everything changes so quickly, anything that provides a sense of continuity and rootedness can be very appealing.

Or I may just be full of it.

I adore "vintage" clothing. For me I find the quality of the fabric and workmanship superior to the garments made today. I also love the styles from the 1940's and 1950's.

it brings you back to that time, that era...you feel like you're back in a moment from the past. I get melancholy when I shop for antiques...I love items from the 60's and 70's. I wish my Mom would've kept all her clothes from the past...little Grace Kelly dresses...classic, never goes out of style.

Vintage represents a time of quality and American production by American workers. It invokes memories and usually quality manufacturing by skilled engineers, carpenters, craftsmen and artists. But most of all it represents value of preserving the past and investing in the increased value for the future. For instance, a Robinhood planter made by McCoy recently sold at auction for $11,500.

Represents the pre-regression stage of society... when people actually had morals and ideals that they were willing to stick by. Atleast that's how I view it. Vintage clothing's also very cute and inexpensive.

I'm not really sure, but you have to admit there is an appeal.

That they have been around for a long time and many have seen it. have touched it. It has a pass.
