The silica is easy to get rid of -- a filter will do the trick. The calcium is more of a problem -- it's called hard water. If you can stand sodium in your water, a conventional zeolite-type water softener will do fine; if not, you will need to use a reverse-osmosis type softener. These waste a fair amount of water.

The only way to remove silica is reverse osmosis. silica will ruin a distiller and it does not come off of anything without acid and buffing. Calcium only a water softener will remove it and if it does not use salt then it will not remove it. 20 years in the water treatment business.

By reverse osmosis method!

Magnetic water softner! It will soften the water but the it will still contain all the saturated materials in it!

well the simplest method's would be to use filter's and water softners as the previous two people have mentioned but probably the best way to remove contaminents is to distill it

Adding a carbonate will precipitate out much of the calcium as calcium carbonate. If you can tolerate sodium use sodium carbonate (washing soda) or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).

Reverse osmosis would be the simplest way. They do have home units.

What volume do you need?
