Does anyone know if Sega of America ever plans on ressurecting it, like to the ps3?

Yes, Sega will be bringing back the old sidescroller fighter, not on PS3 but the Nintendo Wii. It won't be a new series, however.
Wii's Virtual Console has the ability to download classic "retrolutionary games of ol' skool" & store them on the tiny system. And, yes, PLAY THEM!!! Think of old Atari, NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, etc. games when thinking of the Wii Virtual Console.

I think they had plans to create Streets of Rage 4 on Dreamcast many years ago.. but those plans were scrapped for some reason. I have a clip of some gameplay from Streets of Rage 4 on my other computer. Not bad for its time, and I wish the series would have continued.
