I have started using 5htp with Valerian (50 mg taken for a week then off a couple of days - varies by person), magnesium with calcium, and a good mulit-vitamin/mineral combo. Lay off the caffinated sugary drinks and other products that affect you serotonin levels (cigarettes, alcohol). Also exercise, (just walking for about 10 minutes in the sunshine) helps. Research foods to eat also. From my research, foods high in tryptophan are converted to serotonin in the intestines and passed to the blood stream and onto the brain. Slow breaths, through the nose and out the mouth, helps a little when I feel an anxiety attack coming on. This is helping me, but research the info I have given you and ask your Doc about the 5HTP.

I'm not sure about vitamins, but I do know of a food that can help you. Once it is processed, people experience excellent results and it's been around for thousands of years, but only introduced to the western world 3 years ago.

These are not vitamins, but St. John's Wort is said to help ease depression. Kava has a calming effect and may help with anxiety.
http://www.depression-guide.com/vitamin-deficiency.htm is a guide all about vitamins and depression. It gives dosage information and symptoms of deficiency.
Also, if you are suffering with anxiety, depression and panic attacks, please seek help from your doctor. There are many pharmaceuticals that work wonders with these conditions.

take a look at a product called SAMe (S-Adenosylmethionine). It can often be found in combination with B vitamins which are commonly used for nerves, anxiety & stress.
Herbally, Lemonbalm (aka Melissa) seems to get great results and does not have the drug interactions and possible side effects St John's Wort can cause.

There's a great book out called "Change Your Brain, Change Your Life", by Dr. Daniel Amen. He gives information on anti-depressants as well as natural supplements .... and dosages, too. Some of the supplements include: St. John's Wart, 5-HTP, SAM-E, and a biggie ... FISH OIL (omega 3's, dha, and epa).
A side note: If you are taking anti-depressants, you have to be very careful with the supplements you are taking. For example, St. John's Wart is one supplement that cannot be taken with anti-depressants ... can cause major problems.
Good luck!
