Because we get so excited for the holidays to come, there is so much anticipation, and when it is over, we feel kind of down, like there is nothing to look forward to. Back to the real world...work etc..

I'm not bored. Its just taken me 3days to work out how to use my new alarm clock! On this basis. If I'd got an electric guitar and an X box I'd be boredom free for life.Really though it's because it's such an anti climax after all the fun.New year next ,then really really boring old January

I can't say it is boring round here. I am getting the place cleaned up! No, not Christmas fesitvities, but letting things go due to uni pressures. Christmas was at my Brother's house, and was wonderful.
For now, my tree is still up, the uni shambles looking more like a house than badly maintained on campus housing, and the afterglow is still strong. So not bored.
Oh yeah! I got a gutar as well.

It takes months of planning, shopping for presents, building up all the excitement that Christmas and New Year brings - then WHOOSH ! in one week, it's Gone and very soon, you will have to start planning for Christmas 2007, it's a Never Ending Story. Have a Good New Year !!!

The holidays are a break from "reality", so to speak. We get that little bit of extra time to share with those who are important to us, and even enjoy gifts given to us....and those we give to others as well. After the holidays, everything just goes back to normal, which can of course, be very depressing. We just have to look at the bright side of things and be thankful for the holiday we had and look forward to the next time we get to enjoy our time as we please.

It's all a big anti-climax really. We spend months on preparing for the holidays, we build up our hopes and dreams and when they finally arrive, they are over too quickly and they weren't that great.
It is said that when we look back, we see everything in 20/20 vision. No illusions or false misgivings. I have always viewed the holidays in 20/20 vision.
