Try Adobe photoshop elements. I love this program it is my favorite. I have created webpages stored photos, edit photos and even created DVD slide shows with this program. It's one of my favs!

I would agree with a few of the other posts. PhotoShop is the Mac Daddy and Photoshop Elements is its cheaper offspring at 100.00 which is considerably cheaper than the full version.
GIMP is a nice Open Source (free) product that gives you a lot of control similar to photoshop with layers and very similar tools.
I am not sure how much "time" you have to invest in learning the software and how intense you want to get but a simpler program than any of those listed above.....and a program that is free... would be http://picasa.google.com/
This is another freebie google tool that is very strong when it comes to finding, arranging and searching images on your computer. It is probably simpler and more user friendly than the first two and is more for helping you arrange photos and tweak them a bit. Elements and GIMP let you dig down deeper and do more editing but from your post I thing that Google's Picasa would be the first tool to look at since you can figure it out pretty quick and know if it will do the job

to arrange snaps u can use google photo album and if u have scanner the cd prived along with it provides some photo albums
