Yes I have taken a vow of friendship.... Everyone has taken a vow at least once in their lifetime. I am thinking about taking a vow of silece. I wouldn't get in as much trouble!!!

Not unless you're also talking about wedding vows. I've never made any other vows of any kind and I don't plan to. I tend to break things like that, which is a big reason why I don't make New Year's resolutions...

Several.
As a child I vowed to myself that I would never get drunk. I do have a drink or two from time to time, but have never been drunk.
As a child I vowed to myself that I would never use drugs. I've used pot a few times, but never tried anything else, so I guess I sort of kept it.
As a 20 year old my boyfriend and I vowed - in writing - not to have sex before marriage. We never did. (Of course, we're also never going to marry, since I broke up with him after about 8-9 months.....)

no vow I have taken in recent history has anything to do with denial. maybe when I was a child and under the influence of my local nunnery.....

I vowed that if the US is ever taken over by Marxism or extreme socialism that I will give up my life in order to take down these people and their supporters. All men, women and children will be equal targets!!!!!!!!!! Mark my words!!!!!!!!!!!!
