All the guys that I like who show an interest in me I'm really awful to - ignoring them or calling them "stupid" "juvenile" "dull" "boring" "hate that shirt" "hate your haircut" just very immature behaviour.
I have done this with every single one,It's really irritating because eventually they give up and im sad.
is it a self defence mechanism??
To guys i'm not interested in i'm friendly/kind,it's the ones I feel a strong emotion for that get that strong reaction out of me.
HOW TO STOP??
I fear if i'm nice to the guy he'll hurt me or won't like me.

I dont know I think most haircuts are stupid too. ha ha
You are insecure, and you are playing football in your mind but in the wrong way. The best defense is not an offense to friends and or loved ones. To insult them you put them in doubt and then you feel secure because if they dump you, you can make it seem you did not care for them anyway. Everyone in life has lovers and have lost, and we have to go through that pain and that is life.
Just like every woman that has a baby has to have the baby and feel pain. It is inevitable for a beautiful thing like childbirth it is worth it. And to share love with someone is just as beautiful, even if you break up, you just have to remember the good times. And from the sound of it you are not having any good times to have memories of and that is a shame. Try feeling more secure, and start looking at yourself in the mirror and start saying those things to yourself that you say to them and see how it makes you look and sound. That usually is a start for a cure. You might find you wont like you either that way. And when you change you will see how much you are appreciated for you and your charm.

I used to do that too when I was in middle school! I think its like a phase or something that girls and boys go through. When I was really little and boys pulled my hair my mom said it was because they liked me and I didn't understand that until I started being mean to boys I liked.
You must be at the point where you are ready to grow out of this stage. I think it will occur naturally, but if you want to help the process along, I suggest that you decide which boy you like. If he is available, the next time you see him (like at school or at work or wherever you see him) you might say hello and ask him how his Christmas went. See how he reacts, and if you say something mean by accident, you should say, "just kidding" afterwards and it should be okay!
