It varies a lot from year to year. Wallace hasn't been that great this year. Really no one has. The highest average right now is only 3.0. And whoever said Yao Ming is the best is an absolute joke. He's 7'6" and only gets 2 a game. Shawn Bradley and Manute Bol weren't very good, but at least they could block 3 or 4 shots a game. I think Marcus Camby is always overlooked. He has averaged over 3 a game in almost every season. I would have to say that Kirilenko and Josh Smith are the best because they get as many blocks as the rest of the leaders, but without any height advantage.

I answered this question before :D

Dikembe Mutumbo for sure...he is one the best shotblockers in the league...others use(d) their merely height to block shots, but Dikembe uses timing, positioning, switching on the pick/screen, he blocks the shot whenever he wants...the others just swing their arms infront of the offensive player and hit the ball...

others would be Dwyane Wade (averaging 1.2 blocks per game this year) and Gerald Wallace (averaged 2.1 blocks per game last season)....both of those guys are guards (Gerald is a Guard/Forward)

and the future best shot blocker would have to be Emeka Okafor, uses the same techniques used by Dikembe (even wears number 55 as a tribute to Dikembe)

Camby when healthy is a monster shot blocker. But Mourning is more of a professional shot blocker imo.

Zo and Wallace are great shot-blockers. Kirilenko, however is phenomenal when it comes to weak-side help and getting his blocks. When he's healthy that is.
