Absolutely. I've seen many people cosplay non-anime characters at cons.
Just go to http://www.cosplay.com and you'll see there's even cosplay from American movies and TV shows.

Yea, it's fine, BUT! If you're looking to enter any cosplay competitions they might have going on, you should REALLY check and make sure that Live-action movie cosplay is allowed. Alot of times it isn't. So just be careful. If you're not competing, then have fun. If nothing else it'll show you who at the convention has seen the same movies you have.

Yes, people do Star Wars all the time! and I even read a newspaper article about people cosplaying at an anime convention recently, apparently people used to think it was only for nerds but not anymore!

i admire the eastern stay strikes extra helpful, on the grounds that many cultural factors are lost while they're made into American videos. i'm not an excellent fan of stay strikes usually, yet there are a decide on handful (all eastern) that I enjoyed. They did a sturdy interest with the third Deathnote action picture and Dragonhead.
