i know its long! please read though!?!?! he is my best friend and we were hanging out a while ago and we started talking serious and i dont remeber how he worked it in but he said it and i didnt know what to say so he just shrugged it off and started on a different subject and i felt so bad! here is the twist though. i love him but i dont love him like he loves me. i want to have a relationship with him but i dont want to lose our friendship. also,he reminded me of my childhood and how fun it is to be really dorky and not so tense. and i love him for that but how can i tell him? what should i say?

if you don't really love him, then you shouldn't say it. it's as simple as that.

but i guess if you want to tell him how you feel, then just tell him
exactly what you posted here.

If he is wanting to have a more serious relationship with you than you do with him, you need to tell him. Tell him that you do love him, but not in the same way he loves you. That you value your friendship and that you don't want to lose that.

I will say that the best relationship I have ever had, is with my husband who is my best friend. So it is possible to have the best of both worlds. Keep an open mind, and heart, you never know what you will find.

you know what to tell him. Tell him exactly what you told us. If he's a close friend i'm sure he'll understand exactly how you feel and everything will be there in the open. theres a saying that nothing bad can happen from telling someone about your true feelings especially if you tell them that they are loved and cared about. this quote was on little house on the prarie on the episode i saw today and i think it really relates to your sitation. :) good luck

tell him just that, if your friendship is as strong as it sounds this will work itself out and you guys will mend, just make sure he knows you'll always be there for him and you do love him just not in the same way you don't know what the future will hold but that is how you feel now
you never know he may end up being your true love someday
good luck

well i think that you should tell him how you feel and he should accept
that if not then you should tell him that you took your time out to talk to him
