My periods are very regular ALWAYS, but now I am 29 days late. At 7 days after the missed period I did a home test and no line after the 3 minutes but after about10 minutes a soft blue line appeared on both of the test, 2 days later I did a qualitative blood test and came back negative, could I be pregnant anyway? . Please don’t sent me to the doctor or to repeat the test (I am planning on that) but I will like to know if anybody has had the same experience and was pregnant.

First of all, you can't pay any attention to what the home test kit does after the specified time has elapsed. Its only proven to be effective when read within a certain amount of time and any results read before or after that time can't be verified. I had a negative qualitative blood test, however it was very early in pregnancy. The qualitative test is designed to give a positive result when there is a certain amount of the hormone hcg present. Everyone's pregnancy is different and sometimes women produce the hormone at different rates. After I was 2 months late, I convinced my doctor to run a quantitative pregnancy test just to ease my mind. The quantitative test actually "counts" how much hcg is in your system and gives the doctor an actual number relative to that amount ... not just a positive or negative. Women who aren't pregnant usually have a "0" on this test, any number higher than 5 indicates something is definitely going on. Maybe you should request this test from your doctor. You'll have to go to your OBGYN because family practitioners won't order it for you. Good luck.

*BTW I am 33 weeks pregnant now!

You usually cannot take a reading after 10 minutes to be accurate. It is most accurate in the first 5 minutes. A qualitive and quantitive blood test and time are the only true way to show a positive or negative. I would suggest a progesterone test as well as an ultrasound. Good luck!

nope, I had the negative pee test but the positive bloodtest.. bloodtests are pretty much the final word... if it came up neg, your chances of being pregnant are really really really small...unless they made a mistake
