Remember the early sixties when the U,S, wanted Gary Powers a U2 spy plane pilot tried in a world court they boasted, that America had a 64%conviction Ratio in federal court, the states had a 46% conviction Ratio, since Rusia had a 92% conviction Ratio there no way anyone could get a fair trial in Russia,??? hummm today the U,S, has a 98.8% conviction ratio, we have more people in prison than any country in the world according to international human rights organization , even China or N,Korea
many of our prisoners are lifers for drugs or some other crime that was not a crime until the 60s, our law makers have passed 55.000 new laws since 1965, ??? why , our uninformed public is still demanding more sever sentences for every one, our people are like lambs compared to the people in the 50s and 60s and yet they want more and stiffer laws??? and the same people who yell the loudest are also yelling when they get arrested for some thing minute and get sent to prison for several years,

for example if two people even mention doing something criminal , and one or the other gets up to go to the bath room or make a phone call they can be and have been convicted?? our laws have got to be rethought out and made more equatableor you and I may be next to be serving time, so don't say not me as itis estimated by the F,B,I,s own word that as many as 36%of prisoners are not guilty as charged,so unless you have a min, of $100.000 for a decent Attorney be very careful,

We have 600,000 laws on the books that can incarcerate you!

All these feel good laws that get passed to please special interests groups do us no good.

Stick to the 10 commandments and everything else will sort itself out.

In this land, Justice is only for those that can afford it. True Freedom is made a mockery by those who control & hold power

Well I My Self Did Believe That America Is The Land Of The Free! Until One Day I Had Friend's Go To Prison For A BS Charge And 20 Year's For A Crime Made In The 60's I Do Not Believe The Law's Should Be "Stiffer" In Fact I Believe Most Law's Are Bs And Just A Reason To Send People To Prison..... Notice How So Many Rich People Are Allowed To Pay There Way Out! Yet Poor People Are Sent To Federal Prison's Just Because They Couldn't Pay. They Bend Those Law's When It Comes To Money So I Don't Think Most Should Even Exist.

Interesting. Here's an example. If this happened in America, there would be no end to the lawsuits against the government.

George Bush said that he would send the US Army to invade Iraq and arrest Saddam Hussein. This was being done because Hussein, Bush said, had WMD. And he was helping Bin Laden. Neither of these accusations were true, and yet Hussein had no recourse to sue the US government for unlawful arrest.

I am not saying the Husseing was not a very bad man. I am saying that the US government thinks it can do anything it wants and damn the rights of anyone else.

i agree with u there.. a bit maybe.. well i've been thinking there is something is not rite with the law.. i'm not immigrant, just a tourist from Malaysia.. i got a problem as soon as i got here.. i came to watch a beautiful country as they say.. "the land of freedom".. when suddenly a police came towards me saying to give my bag for thorough inspection.. i did all that he ask me to do.. and then the cops want me to follow him.. he started to handcuff me.. and i yelled what did i do wrong? he said "shut a f***k up u lousy Taliban"... what is this? is this freedom u say there?

in the car he's mumbling and mumbling mocking me.. i told him i have to call the Malaysian Embassador now.. and he stop mumbling.. he turn his car into some dark alley and pull me outside.. and left me there.. i remember the license plate and the cops badge number..

so.. what do u think? is this freedom? or this is communism?

p/s: i smashed the car front window and flat the tires after the incident..

Honestly I don't feel that Americans are free. I don't think that we are horrible living here but we do have more free will than most countries. I feel that the worst part is when a murderer can get away with it because they plead insanity! That makes me angry! I don't really know about all the other stuff that you said but I know the criminal justice system needs a very large makeover.

The very things we demonized USSR for in the sixties are considered virtues by today's Democrats, and God help us, some Republicans.

Yes, I agree, America is a terriable tyrannical country.

And the UNCONSTITUTIONAL Patriot Act doesn't help it any.

I'm getting out of here as soon as possible.

(Canada is my first choice =]] )

Peace.
