first, the sign convention for vectors is positive for north and east while negative for south and west.
in your case you have a positive and negative vector.
the resulting force or what we call resultant force is the sum of all the forces.
so 5+(-5)=0
when adding integers/numbers with unlike signs we can change both signs to positve and proceed to subtraction therefore

5-5=0

the answer is 0
