That being said would you sign a petition today to end women's suffrage? Isn't it time for change?

Can you please sign my petition to ban di-hydrogen oxide? It's everywhere and it can be quite dangerous. =)

As a woman I would say for the most part we are treated the same, I think everyone is running the rat race in todays society. Fighting to be treated the same as men is not going to change the fact that they look at you funny because you may want to work in the same field as them such as automotive, construction, or racing, there are already laws supposed to be protecting us, as any law they find ways around them. Not that I want to lose my rights but I think it is pretty pathetic that many of us have to work because our husbands income is not enough to support a family unless they go out and get a few degrees under their belt. You can't tell me all there are no manual jobs anymore, our government is allowing jobs to go overseas... while they file bankruptcy here in the states. You know what is sad is we sent them there shopping at Walmart. Yet the laws changed for us to file bankruptcy. Is my time worth any less then someone elses just because I wanted to be able to stay home and take care of my children rather than send them to a sitter 1/3 or their day so I can run off get an education and grab a job that I can't stand. My husband had a couple of trades under his belt and some college, and couldn't find work around here that paid worth a darn for the longest time. I have to go to school part-time so that I can take care of my children in twenty years, oh wait... they'll be all grown up by then. My father told me that I could be anything I wanted to be, sadly enough I can't just mother my children without society getting in the way. I think I can find something else to get upset about than being a woman. Sorry I won't sign your petition to end women's suffrage, because it is that suffrage that makes us stronger. I do believe it is time for something to change though, because if it is that hard now imagine what it will be like for our children. Will people come together for that cause since no one can agree on how things should be. We are being raped for good childcare, gas, housing... so on and so forth. There is global warming and our government has done little. They will make us wear seatbelts and they will stop people from smoking around businesses, but are they changing what people can drive or the pollution that industies are doing. NO. They say they are trying to take the crime off the streets, but everytime I turn around they are letting them right back out. And if that isn't bad enough then they let these convicts have visitation rights over their children, yet they lose their right to vote. Sorry I had to vent... I am less worried about being treated the same, then what the world will be like twenty years from now for our children. Will they be able to find a job, a decent neighborhood, decent childcare, how about air to breath. I guess that is my concern at this time.

"Women's suffrage" was left undefined in your question. In some societies, women don't exist in an equal environment as men and are treated poorly. This arises in societies when women's ability to help out in food production is taken away due to the introduction of the plow farming in agricultural societies. Women were less able to operate a plow pulled by animals and thus, limited their capacity to participate in production. Therefore, they had no way to help out and started staying in doors. Because of the public-private dichotomy, work outside the home was valued more than work inside the home. During the industrial revolution, men of middle to upper class perpetuated an ideology that women's place was in the home. While the men did factory work, women were expected to raise kids and be Suzy Homemaker. Only recently after world war 2 did women begin to be hired. Since new technology arose, more opportunities opened up for women to take on careers in certain fields that weren't simply limited to physical labor. Thus, the modern-day working woman we know today exists and is not a rarity. However, she does get paid less for doing the exact same tasks as a male identical counterpart. A brief history on differentiation of genders.

Women should not be treated as men. They are not men with breasts, regardless of what the politically correct think.

As for ending their suffrage, sure. We never had storms like Katrina before women got the vote.

I don't know if you realized but "suffrage" means one's right to vote. If people signed a petition to end "women's suffrage", they would be against a woman's right to vote.

No. I don't want some man thinking its ok to speak lewdly to me like he would with a man. I wouldn't want a man wantonly putting his hands on me like he would a man.

BUT, I can read and write and count and speak just as well as a man within my IQ range.

It certainly is time for change. The greatest objections come from male dominant religions.
