I have a pillow that's filled with polyfiber with a cotton casing.

There's no instructions on the tag about how to clean it.

Can I just wash it in the washing machine?

I've never had good luck washing pillows filled with poly fiber in the washing machines. Poly fiber tends to separate and ball up during the wash cycle. The pillow will then be a lumpy mess.

Some pillows can be washed, but they are goofy. A foam pillow can feel perfectly dry outside and still hold a gallon or so of water. The foam can get turned around and there is no way to turn it straight again. I never tried to wash any other kind. Pillows are cheap: if yours stinks, it was time to replace it anyway. Remember, you breathe whatever grows in there.

Then I would call the company first. If not fill your washer with warm water and put 2 pillows in there, to soak.Let them soak for a while. Then spin the pillows in the washer.Fill and add softener, let soak, then spin out again. Then put in the dryer on a low heat, then air dry cycle, til they fluff up and are completely dry. When in doubt, just let them air dry. They will be fluffy and smell great..I was all my pillows 2 times a year, and air dry them every time I wash my linen---every 3 days....

Yes you can. Use hot water to kill the dust mites. You can also dry it in the dryer on the low setting. You can do this with feather pillows, duvets, comforters, down-filled coats. It's fantastic! And so less expensive than drycleaning.

Yes, I have done it lots of times (I use hot water) and toss them in the dryer. No problem. Polyfiber pillows in the dryer use a low to med heat. Down pillows (high heat) will not dry the first time. You will have to dry them twice.

would work better in a front loading machine than a top loading machine. the agitator in a top machine can ball up the poly fiber. make sure you use hot water and a gentle detergent.

I tried it a while back and it didn't too badly, but took a few days to dry.
