I listen to the Wish You Were Here album by Pink Floyd...
Just curious.

If I have some free time, I put on some DVD's that always make me laugh- either Scrubs or Strangers with Candy, even though I've seen them all already. They can always get a laugh out of me.

Otherwise, I put on good music and dance around, usually while cleaning and tidying up (puts me in a good mood to have things clean around me). Bowling for Soup is always good for getting me up, as is anybody who is comical: The Wet Spots, Stephen Lynch, Henry Phillips, Adam Dodd, etc..

And eat something delicious or take a long, hot shower. All the creature comforts, basically.

I turn my stereo up loud, and I put on some blues. Bessie Smith, Ruth Brown, Howlin' Wolf -the older the better. Don't get me started on the freedom of the blues!
If that fails me, I play every Melissa Etheridge album I own, rack up the balls and clear the table a few dozen times.
I always end up at least calm at the end if not more cheerful :-)

Work in the garden or go for a walk and try to "get outside my head".That is, to look at and apreciate my surroundings. Anything to take my mind off whatever seems to be a problem.

I'll spend time alone surfing the net or just something to take my mind of things. Good music that gets me pumped or a funny movie. Venting to friends or just hanging out with them.

OMG I used to do that too...that's scary...now I just eat a small piece of dark chocolate and move on.
Or I just blast metal on the stereo and get angry insted. I find that anger is much more motivating that self-pity.

I call up my friends, because just hearing their voices is a huge comfort. Music helps too, I put on something powerful and chill out in my room.
