No matter where one lives, every intelligent person can see what goes on in the area or town, city where one lives, or do they choose not to see it, and let someone else do all the work?
How do you think about this?

Marvin..you are right. If you speak up then they think one is insane!
Isn't this just a cover up?

Hi sona, thanks for your answer. Yes, I agree one has to look at it from their point of you not only to try to find some kind of understanding for their actions, but also to figure out how their minds work. This is already a huge problem worldwide, and if we have no mechanism in place then we will all just be puppets..or better said,..sheep!

Northman: very often the police are involved, with the baddies! And so obviously too, because they do not think anyone has the b*lls to do anything about it!

For the fear of being labelled insane. The generally accepted notion is "What's in it for me? It's a dog eat dog world and I'll just take my cut and leave. I can't care about the world -- I have to think about myself."

This is not an excuse but most people feel that if they complain no one will listen anyway. The governments all over the world have been corrupt for so long people are just sick of it. And then what I personally am sick of is the fact that the ones that do complain are a me me me me people, all about discrimination. Come on already, enough is enough they are long past that and they need to stop milking it the well ran dry. The ones with real problems never get heard, and no one cares anymore. It has gotten to big, this country America especially. The connections are so tight and the paperwork is so much trouble and by the time you get through it everyone has forgotten. It seems the media is the attachment and that is super hard to get into to complain. They have to see pulitzer written on it with their names in Big Letters or they dont care. Towns and cities inevitably have people that are corrupt and this is a fact. There is so much jealousy in these little town mentality folks and such clanish cliques that I puke when I have to deal with them ever. They remind me of the people Moses led across the Red Sea and built the Golden Calf, I just wish I could give these folks today everywhere that bolt of lightening. But C'est La Vie, C'sara sara.
Happy New Year

Believe me-they have done nothing but try to improve and stop the violence! It's a constant on going job! You need to look deeper into your neighbor hood community centers. It's the parents who have no time, or are not taking the needed time with their kids-because they are out working trying to make that all mighty buck. They can't be in both places at the same time. Kids need love and discipline, but aren't even getting that properly. In a one parent house hold the money is a priority and the tired parent can only give so much! Community centers, and schools have things for the kids to do, BUT they are not babysitters. We have Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, have you joined-and helped out? So, when these kids find other kids, who sit around, and feel alone-they become a family-which I think they call themselves a "gang", and the story goes on and on! I understand your question completely, but do you know the real truth behind it? Dig deeper, it's not to hard to figure out!! And it's not too pretty-as I see you've already figured out. You don't even have to be intelligent!

the market is a beautiful, living thing.
It is the closest thing to god we can comprehend.
Your post is very distressing to me, please go away and read Adam smith then come back when you know what you are talking about.
The market is beautiful. It makes sense it its own terms and that's all anyone can hope for.
I love it.
People like you should be shot for blasphemy.
I just don't understand how you could direct your pettiness towards something so pure.
You are a savage, savage barbarian. I don't care what you think, my cuff links cost more than your house.
Corruption is good, would you prefer it if everyone was satisfied with this sad existence?
It is thanks to the BOE that your life has any definition, what is there apart from money which somone else can value for you?
What is there apart from money?
The market offers truth, people like you are just to weak to accept it and I think you are pathetic to blame my precious capitalism.
So you can just go to hell you Marxist simpleton.

humanity by its very nature is self destructive, and people with intelligence are set up for ridicule from school age, so it is hardly surprising that they never seem to come forward with ideas or plans to change anything.
i think the only way an intelligent person can get respect these days is by developing a new computer part or game! and if that's the case why bother trying to change the world when no one will accept change

People keep talking about a 'revolution' but this society is too sfraid to do anything and everyone's chasing the £ and $. I believe this war in tthe middle east is going to sort out a lot of things. I'd hope it gives the rich neo-cons a bloody nose.

You need to look in to this matter from those corrupt peoples' perspective. everybody does something that he/she thinks right. route cause of corruption is undue favourism which one needs. man does everything for his need. you need something badly which you dont owe and you can get only on bribing someone, so you bribe to get something you don't owe. if you have'nt taken any step to get something you don't owe, you would'nt have bribed anybody and the corruption would have subsided.
so obviously, when there is a giver, there is someone to take it.
combatting corruption should be a group effort.
in one or the other phase of one's life, one would have bribed someone in any way starting from paying donation to the school to paying heavy undue fees to the college. Leave alone the person who has accumalated property beyond his earning, speaking about the person who is short of even his children's school fees out of the megre salary he would be getting would obviously think about a shorter route for the shortfall of money he faces every day.
what is your opinion over this.

......or take the blame? Blame shifting and "passing the buck" has become the way of the world ....what's the solution? Can we really overthro truth? To my knowledge history has proven that is impossible. Can we really say there is a "gray zone" in e v e r y situation? Wouldn't that be considered blasphemy?
IMO No personal responsiblity to the community ....answer to your first queston.

Because we seem to care more about celebrities and whether or not two people of the same sex get married. People's focus and attention are kept elsewhere and then they likely choose not to see it, or do anything about it, because things aren't too bad for them.

3 theories:
1. laziness
2. feeling powerless
3. so wrapped up in just trying to survive, living paycheck to paycheck, that the head is stuck in the current moment and not trying to be proactive (a more justified form of laziness).
