Someone explain this man's behavior?
I had a guy...well as I was talking to him..for one he didn't give any eye contact, the entire time we talked , then he had his hands in his hoodie pocket, he just acted nervous the entire time, then at the end of the conversation , he asked me how my christmas was...I I told him it was okay..then he asked so who did you spend it with.....then later on, he comes up to me and he's like oh..your face..and I asked what about it, tehn he says..you look so sad...and I really don't want to see you like that...then he asked me what I was listening to on my ipod...and he started cracking some jokes...and then he asked me so when will you be back here at the gym again..I told him probably tommorrow..and he was like well I'll be messing with you tommorrow then..so what do you think? Do you think he's flirting or just being cordial?

It sounds to me like this guy has some real serious ADD problems.
Personally, for me, anyone that doesn't make eye contact while conversing is usually shady in some respects.
I never met this guy, so I'm not judging him, or at least, I' trying not to judge him, but I think a a regiment of prozac is in order.
I wouldn't put too much stock in this person. Sounds to me like he's got some issues. Also, try not to take it personally, either.

my guess is hes a little shy. shy people go thorough phases where sometimes they feel more antisocial/nervous then other times. (i know im way shy) so maybe at first he was a little out of it and had a hard time making conversation whereas later he was feeling more comfortable around you. as to whether he was flirting or not will become clear with time ( or you can just ask).

He likes you and tries to flirt,he's just too nervous.If you like him,be patient and don't play tough on him,let him say something more or invite you somewhere.
