The doctor will probably say to use saline drops and a bulb syringe. He may also suggest using a cool mist humidifier in the baby's room to help with breathing.
When you use the saline drops and bulb syringe, squirt the drops in one nostril while you suction the other, then repeat on the other side. Don't use the bulb syringe they give out at the hospital, look for one with a shorter, wider part that goes into baby's nose so that it doesn't poke really far into baby's nose if he or she shakes her head while you're doing it.
Put a rolled up towel or blanket under one end of the crib mattress to elevate the head of the crib slightly, so that the drainage from the cold can run down baby's throat.
If your baby starts running a fever, call the doctor. If baby starts having trouble breathing (really rapid or you notice the whole chest sinking in with each breath) call 911 or take baby to the hospital immediately.

My baby had a cold for it seemed like 4 months and meds didn't help, at 7 months she pushed in 2 teeth and then the cold symptoms went away, but now she's back at it again. The Dr's say that cold symptoms have nothing to do with getting teeth but every other mother says different. If its really a cold, try infant tylenol for discomfort or fever. For my babies stuffy nose I run a hot shower and let the baby sit in the bathroom with the steam, it seems to help some. I also use a humidifier at night for her. Hope this helps.

My baby was just sick too- they told me to put a humidifier in her room, suction the congestion out of her nose with an aspirator, and give her tylenol to keep her comfortable. There's nothing you can really do other than that. If green remains in her nasal passages after 10 days or so and her breath smells funny she probably has a sinus infection lingering. She'll need some antibiotics to help with that if it won't go away. Good luck!

At that age, one has take the baby to doctor to make sure that
the kid really has a cold.
If it's really a cold usually baby Tylenol and clean their nose.
Otherwise, the kid will need anti-biotic.
At this age, their lives are very fragile. Definitely need to take them to a doctor.

If it isn't an infection; ear ache, chest infection, flu etc, he'll probably say to give him plenty of boiled water. If it is an infection, he'd probably give him/her antibiotics.
