Under California law, it is illegal to use a police scanner in the commission of a crime.

All other uses are permitted (see http://www.afn.org/~afn09444/scanlaws/laws/scanner/ca.html).

no scanners or radar detectors in COMMERCIAL veh. big fines and loss of items if caught-if you mean pick up truck it would be a state thing not a city thing- call PONCH or JOHN (7 MARY 1&2 ,how sick is it that I remember their call signs) @CHP
