No offense, but first off, you should already know what to feed it, how to house it, etc, BEFORE you buy it.
You can buy hamster pellets at almost any pet store. Be careful with fruits and vegetables and feed them that only once or twice a week. If it perishes, remove it so they don't get sick.
They need a fresh supply of food everyday, or they could get dehydrated. Make sure it is in the bottle kind and make sure it doesn't leak, but comes out. Sometimes, you can provide milk, but it is best if there is a pregnant, or nursing female. Remove the milk if it goes sour!
Chew sticks are good treats for the hamsters, because they love to chew.

Go to pet supply stores and get the packaged hamster foods. If you're not sure ask for help from the store. In addition to the store bought food I used to feed my dwarf hamster carrots, apples, and fresh vegetables and fruits for treats.

Hamsters will eat numerous things from apples to honey... A healthy hamster food will be good, along with perhaps a few vitamin enriched treats and fresh fruits. Another thing to give him is a wood chew of some sort so he can file down his teeth.

Hamster food sold in pet stores of course. My favorite is Mazuri they look like large stubby cylinders that are greyish brown, can mix that with other types of ham ham food.
