I know he rode in a space ship at one point and sang the beach boys song 'get around' with the android that lived in the ship. I beleive it was a disney movie.

Loved "Flight of the Navigator". Sarah Jessica Parker was in it too. Paul Reubens, aka Pewee Herman did the voice of the Alien/Robot thingy.

"Flight of the Navigator" (1986)
It is a good movie.
I watched it a while back.
The Android was just an arm thing that was the "brain" of the machine. It talked to the boy.
