Before his term ends? only 1 legal way. Impeachment by a simple majority of the House & conviction by a 2/3 vote of the Senate. Only 2 presidents (Andrew Johnson & Bill Clinton) have been impeached. Neither was convicted.

If a president is impeached and found guilty by the congress then the president may lose his/her official power as President of the United States.
Now I'm not sure what exactly you meant by your question but a president could also lose their powers by death, resignation or any situation that may not allow for the president to carry his/her duties.

Impeachment and removed from office, resignation, elections, death. Those are the only ones I can think of. And by death I don't mean to advocate anything. There have been Presidents who have died while in office.

Impeachment for high crimes is really the only way. Resorting to violent means, as tempting as it may seem, is totally illegal and probably not the best way to go about it.

well in the bush case, if he had any brain he'd do like Nixon, and resign out of sheer embarrassment. he could be impeached also.
or.... have him go hunting with dick cheney.
