In the UK, 9 is the age that children can be left alone (for a few hours). 13 and 11 - gosh, my sister used to look after me when she was 13 during the day when both my Mum and Dad were at work.
In answering your question, I would say going to work is probably going to be during the day, when neighbours are about for help if needed and family members are just a phone call away. But at night, whilst partying, it might be so much harder for your kids to get help if they need it.

At 11 & 13 kids should not be left alone at all. If you are leaving your kids home to go out partying that is really sad. How would you feel if you were out partying late at night and your kids ended up dying in a fire or something? It happens.

what do you mean is their a difference in children staying home alone while the parent is at work vs going to party. it,s the same they to young to be their alone while you go out ! i think you know that why you ask this question .why don,t you ask some one to wacth them so you can go out . or stop going out until.

work means you are going because you are making a living and a better livelihood for your children.... partying is you being selfish and thinking only of yourself while you go get slammed - i understand a parent has got to get out every now and then - but i hope you are not out barhopping every night - and who can go out partying and not worry about their young children left home alone??

you can be charged with child abandonment, they could be taken away from you, and they are still minors. they need supervision, get a sitter or enlist family to help. when u go out at night to party, definitely they should not be left alone.

I think so.
What is one doing while they are partying? Are they benefiting their family as they are when they are working? What example are they setting for their children by partying instead of working?
That's just my opinion.

how much trouble were you capable of getting into at that age? they need supervision whether you are at work or at a party. if you need to get out of the house why don't you find something you can do that includes them?

no- they should not be left alone regardless of where the parent is going. They are still much too young.
